Inherit the wind

The words and thought of Proverbs 11:29 have been with me a lot this fall. I’ve been pondering these words and not even knowing their source. What does it mean to inherit the wind? There is a lot of wisdom in the Book of Proverbs.

He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind:and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.–Proverbs 11:29

  1. I believe it simply means that emptiness will be your reward when you bring trouble on your own family.

The dead-beat dad; the abusive father; the drug addict; the divorcee…anyone who brings pain, anger, bitterness or division on their own family will inherit and earn nothing but a fistful of air.

God’s grace is all forgiving and does not keep a list of our sins, but some consequences will plague us until the day we die. This is very wise and strong advice with regards to the way we treat our own. Be Blessed!
