Easter Surprise

I can’t quite contain my concern that we are heading towards a nuclear Armageddon.

“The Bush administration continues moving closer to a nuclear attack on Iran, and we ignore the obvious buildup at our peril.

Russian media is sounding alarms. In February, ultra-nationalist leader Vladimir Shirinovsky warned that the US would launch a strike against Tehran at the end of this month. Then last week, the Russian News and Information Agency Novosti (RIA-Novosti) quoted military experts predicting the US will attack Iran on April 6th, Good Friday. According to RIA-Novosti, the imminent assault will target Iranian air and naval defense capabilities, armed forces headquarters as well as key economic assets and administration headquarters. Massive air strikes will be deployed, possibly tactical nuclear weapons as well, and the Bush administration will attempt to exploit the resulting chaos and political unrest by installing a pro-US government.” Read more here at Commondreams.

It is ironic that as one of the holiest weeks of the Christian year approaches our government is steering us closer to a war with Iran. Ironically we might be using nuclear weapons to subdue the Iranians. I think the United States as I knew it has ceased to exist. Iran is not our natural enemy but the Iranians do pose a threat to Israel and most of our politicians are endorsed and supported by AIPAC. AIPAC is the only PAC in Washington that is not subject to oversight. Therefore Israeli hawks actually dictate our foreign policy.

I’ve been praying the Rosary a lot lately and I’ve dedicated those Rosaries to a divine intervention to stop this madness. I hope you will join me in praying for an end to this madness.
